Are you a person that was told to not question the LDS religion, but to just believe? Did you ever have questions about the LDS religion that were not and could not be answered? Were you tired of the secrets that the LDS religion keeps? Here is your spot to tell the world what your question was, and what your answer was. You should ask questions, and a 'true' church should be able to answer those questions and never keep secrets.
I again searched for my answers to my questions. I went to Missionary Chat link that I found on this webpage... http://mormon.org/articles-of-faith?gclid=CKeG87Pag6kCFacZQgodyi_lSg. I was not able to cut and paste my conversation that I had with a 'missionary'. This action was not available. So I brought out my camera and took pictures of my conversation. You will find these pictures on here and my facebook page.
Someone above wrote that "Religion is something people believe in with all of their heart." Do not be fooled by religions. God is whom you should believe in with all of your heart. Religions should just be a way oc hearing God's word. Or learning of God's word. As I was a member of the LDS religion, people would bare their testimonies: most would begin or end with 'and I know that (blah blah, the current president of the LDS church) is a true prophet of Joseph Smith.' Why Joseph Smith? Also let this be said... I am not calling out every single individual that practices the Mormon religion. I am questioning the religion. The acts that a Mormon does for another person has nothing to do with the Mormon religion. A Mormon does not (or should not) perform acts of Christ in order to save the 'church's soul'. A person does works of God for themselves, to save their own soul, Not to save a whole church.
"In or about the year A.D. 421, Moroni, the last of the Nephite prophet-historians, sealed the sacred record and hid it up unto the Lord, to be brought forth in the latter days, as predicted by the voice of God through his ancient prophets. In A.D. 1823, this same Moroni, then a resurrected personage, visited the Prophet Joseph Smith and subsequently delivered the engraved plates to him." This was quoted from http://lds.org/scriptures/bofm/explanation?lang=eng.... Who is Moroni? Why was he resurrected? I believe the Bible states that only Christ was to be resurrected until the second coming. Am I wrong on that one? Were there more then just Christ that have been resurrected? Do not get this confused with being raised from the dead. That means to re-enter your earthly body, and basically pick up where you left off.
I went into my church today and made my first step into volunteering with it. ( I go to Ten Mile Christian) Step 1. I walked up to the pastor and told him that I want to help out doing God's work for the benefit of helping others Step 2. I was given an application!! Oh my, How wonderful that feels! :) I mean this church really truly cares about the safety of God's followers. There is even a background check (step 3.) that they do BEFORE anyone is even allowed to volunteer. That means the safety of my child is in good hands. Does the LDS religion do this? If not, WHY? Step 4. Turn in my application; the same kind that you would fill out for a job position, with references and background check and everything. Step 5. Being called to serve God by helping others or children.
I had a conversation with my brother, who is getting ready for temple work. He has to have temple recommendations in order to even get accepted!! Why? My favorite Bible verse about this was found in the New Testament 2 Corinthians 3:1-3 "Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you? You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts."
